i've done this like 4 times on customer cars. Parts department said they had the alternators in stock, bring the car in, turns out they are special order, drive like this up to our hold lot :]

kind of, like 200 yards on the street then into our pending work lot. But yep, some people do look like "what the heck?" lol :]

with a bad alt, the power is supplied by the jumper box, which i've let people here at work borrow 4 times and never returned :(
